DOING RESEARCH IN HEALTH ECONOMICS: A PRACTICAL APPROACH

This book has been organized into three parts. The first part provides introduction and steps involved in the early phases of health economic research. Introduction to health economics, how to think like a health economics, how to think like a health economist, preparedness for research and definition of research, etc. are described in the first part. The second part of this book traces the path of formulating research studies in health economic. It has four chapters covering theoretical concepts and practical guidelines related to formulation of research including research approach and design, guidelines for proposal writing, selection of topic, developing research problems and objectives, and techniques for the review of literature. The third part of this book covers research methodology and report writing. This part has six chapters. These chapters discuss data collection and data analysis methods related to qualitative, quantitative, Q-squared method and case study. The last chapter describes interpretation of results and developing policy implications.
