PRAGMATIC AND SOCIOLINGUISTIC ASPECTS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

In addition to knowledge of language elements (sounds, words, sentences, and discourse), pragmatic competence and sociolinguistic competence are also among key criteria for evaluating the communicative competence of language learners and users. In this book, pragmatic and sociolinguistics features of the English language are addressed and their roles in English language learning and teaching are discussed.
